Elementary School Play

The Elementary School, most years, produces a musical which involves members of the school in some way or other. These plays are well supported by the wider school community. The last few years have seen the production of The Living Bird (based on the Nightingale), Jack (based on Jack and the Bean stalk), The Piper (based on The Pied Piper of Hamelin), Alice (based on Alice in Wonderland) and Red Riding Hood in Fairy Land. Last year the play was based on Roald Dahl’s version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Swimming Lessons

Elementary students from grades 1- 5 participate in a 10 week swim program each year. All students are assessed and assigned a swim level by our instructors at the beginning of each academic year. Trained personnel provided by our school give the students swimming instruction and IISA staff provides additional supervision. Skill acquisition, development of stroke, and water safety are the main areas of focus in the program. Generally, the children complete the requirements of a level in one academic year. Swim Badges and written reports are presented at our end-of year swimming gala. Swimming Gala.
