Intellectual Property

ICARDA strives to ensure that all its research products are available to the greatest number of beneficiaries. Understanding the role that Intellectual Property plays in modern agricultural research and the importance of its management, ICARDA established the Intellectual Property Office in January 2014.

The IP Office assists ICARDA scientists at all its locations by providing legal support, training, and strategic vision with respect to the management of Intellectual Property. The Office also helps the wider community of ICARDA’s beneficiaries by providing a forum for information dissemination and discussion.

The IP Office, based in Amman, Jordan, is currently led by Francesca Re Manning and works under the supervision of the Deputy Director General (Research).

The CGIAR is committed to the sound management of Intellectual Assets and Intellectual Property Rights. As a member Center of the CGIAR Consortium, ICARDA operates in accordance with the "CGIAR Principles on the Management of Intellectual Assets"
