the invitation of the Government of Azerbaijan, ICARDA Regional Coordinator
for Central Asia and the Caucasus (CAC) Dr Raj Paroda visited Baku from
29 July to 2 August to provide expert advice related to modernization
of the country's agricultural research system, supported by the World
Bank. |

|
H.E. Mr Aliyev expressed the need for creating an enabling environment for scientists through development of appropriate facilities and incentives, part of the modernization of the agricultural research system in Azerbaijan. The work is being carried out under a Competitive Grant Scheme funded by the World Bank to create effective national and regional institutes and research stations. |
