Women Trained in Producing Dehydrated Fruits
|
|||||||
| The Dryland Agrobiodiversity Project organized a training workshop for women on techniques for drying figs, apples, pears, and other fruits. A total of 13 women (4 from Jordan, 1 from Lebanon, 4 from Palestine, and 4 from Syria) attended the workshop, held in Lattakia, Syria, on 19-22 September 2004. The training was provided by womens union and private enterprises with expertise in drying fruit. Upon completing the workshop and returning home, the trainees will conduct courses for other women in their region. This activity promotes the conservation and sustainable use of local agrobiodiversity through value-added technologies, including processing and transforming raw products. | |||||||
