Capitula: oblong, 3-3.5 x 2 mm, 8- or more-flowered. Outer phyllaries short, ovate, inner much longer, mostly scarious; all glabrous and without conspicuous yellowish sessile glands. Outer flowers filiform, female, inner apparently hermaphrodite but not setting fruit, Corolla yellowish, glabrous
