Mohammed Badraoui, an agronomist, has been the Director General of the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA), Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Fishery, Morocco, since 2008. Prior to that he was the Director of Combating Desertification and Nature Protection with the High Commissariat for Water, Forest and Combating Desertification in Morocco, and Professor of Soil Science and Land Management at the Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Sciences (IAV), Ministry of Agriculture, Morocco.
From 2002 to 2007, he was a member, Vice Chair and focal point for Africa on the Committee on Science and Technology (CST) of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). Dr. Badraoui holds doctorates in Agronomic Sciences from IAV Hassan II, Morocco, and in Soil Chemistry, Mineralogy and Fertility from the University of Minnesota, USA.
