OLIVEBIOTEQ-2014 Conference, Amman, 3-6 November 2014


AARENINA, ICARDA and NCARE are pleased to announce the 5th OLIVEBIOTEQ conference to be held in Amman, Jordan in November 2014.


OLIVEBIOTEQ 2014 brings together scientists, technicians, managers, exporters, policy makers, and students to exchange experience of new approaches to olive production and marketing, and to develop new thinking for approaches to a sustainable and more profitable global olive industry.


This is the fifth gathering of international olive industry leaders build on the series of past OLIVEBIOTEQ conferences: 'Biotechnology and olive product quality in the Mediterranean' OLIVEBIOTEQ-2004, in Errachidia, Morocco; OLIVEBIOTEQ-2006 in Palermo, Italy; OLIVEBIOTEQ-2009 in Sfax, Tunisia; and OLIVEBIOTEQ-2011 in Crete, Greece. 


Call for papers


OLIVEBIOTEQ-2014 will present new research and technical innovations. Researchers are invited to submit papers related to olive growing and production on one of the following conference themes:

  • Biology, Physiology and Biotechnology 
  • Planting systems / Crop management / Organic farming
  • Irrigation/Stress Physiology/Nutrition

Deadlines and important dates: 


The deadline for abstract submission is June 30, 2014

The deadline for acceptance by the scientific committee is July 31, 2014

The deadline for full paper submission is November 6, 2014 at the latest

OLIVEBIOTEQ 2014 will be held at the Holiday Inn hotel, Amman, Jordan. Holiday Inn Amman is conveniently situated just off the main Madina Al Munawarah road, 35km from Queen Alia International Airport. It is close to the city's businesses and restaurants, 15 minutes' by car from downtown Amman, a comfortable base for discovering the capital's rich history. Step back in time at the Roman Amphitheatre and gaze out over whitewashed houses from the hilltop Amman Citadel. Fine dining and boutique shopping on Gardens Street and University Street are just a few minutes' walk from the hotel.

  1. Registration fees payment: Participants can pay the registration fees by bank transfer or in cash when arriving at the conference registration desk.
  2. One-day attendance: includes the abstracts book and coffee break/lunch coupons for 1 day.
  3. Regular registration fee: includes abstracts book, proceedings, conference bag, informative material, buffet lunch during all conference days, coffee breaks, 1-day technical tour, and a gala dinner.
  4. Students' fee: will only be available to those who will have a valid students' ID card during the Conference.
