Zewdie Bishaw is seed technologist and agronomist with over 35 years of experience in developing countries. He serves as head of seed section and international nurseries at ICARDA.
His research focuses on seed system analysis along the value chain; applied research on seed science to address constraints and seek possible solutions; and promoting alternative seed delivery systems for resource poor farmers in less favorable and remote areas. Prior to joining ICARDA, he worked as head of seed processing department at the Ethiopian Seed Corporation.
He has authored more than 111 scientific and technical publications. He is the editor of Seed Info, newsletter circulated to over 3,000 recipients in 100 countries.
He received his Ph.D. in seed technology from Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
