SEED UNIT STAFF PROFILES

Dr Koffi N. Amegbeto (Togo) - Seed Economist (appointed
September 2004)


Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate the economic and technical components of special projects     managed by the Seed Unit;
2. Formulate concept notes and project proposals in seed system economics     and submit for funding;
3. Conduct and coordinate country studies in order to identify options and     performance indicators for increased cost efficiency of seed systems in     CWANA, and monitor the efficiency of the seed sector in different countries     particularly in the areas of privatization and enterprise development;
4. Assist CWANA countries to carry out economic analysis of their seed     systems;
5. Formulate policy guidelines and recommendations for improving efficiency of     the seed sector in CWANA countries;
6. Conduct training courses, workshops and roundtable meetings related to     economics of seed supply systems.

PhD Agricultural Economics,  University of Illinois – UC (1996), Illinois, USA
MSc Agricultural Economics,  Kansas State University (1990), Kansas, USA
BSc  Agronomy & Agricultural Economics,  Université du Bénin (1986), Lomé,         Togo
