Kumarse Nazari

Dr. Kumarse Nazari has been researching wheat rust pathogens since 1992. Upon joining ICARDA in 2008 he began coordinating Borlaug Global Rust Initiative surveillance activities for the CWANA region, and now leads the ICARDA Cereal Rust Research Program at the Regional Cereal Rust Research Center in Izmir, Turkey. His research focuses on the regional study of cereal rust races, and conventional and molecular aspects of resistance to wheat rusts, particularly stripe and stem rust. Dr. Nazari graduated from the University of Sydney’s Plant Breeding Institute in 2006.
