On June 72017, Mr. Youssef Rajji, Ambassador of Lebanon to the Kingdom of Morocco, visited the premises of ICARDA-Rabat. Dr. Mohammed El Mourid, North Africa regional coordinator of ICARDA, gave the Ambassador a brief presentation about ICARDA’s research platform in Morocco focusing on the intensification and diversification of rainfed cereal-based production systems. Accompanied by ICARDA scientists, the Ambassador toured the Center’s laboratories and genebank, and listened to explanations about research activities conducted at the ICARDA-Rabat.

The visit provided an opportunity to emphasize the strong ties that link ICARDA to Lebanon, and thank the Lebanese Government for its permanent support to ICARDA.
