AFDB TAAT Wins Top International Award for Digital Campaign

A short documentary on the achievements of the African Development Bank's flagship programme, the Technologies for African Agricultural Transformation (TAAT) has won the 2021 Stevie Award. The video won the “Best Video – Documentary" category. The prestigious Stevie International Business Awards accepted more than 3,700 nominations from 65 countries for the 2021 edition.

The video showcases the TAAT programme’s agricultural technologies success in helping 11 million farmers across 30 African countries by improving the productivity of 9 essential food commodities and enhancing farmers’ adaption to climate change.

ICARDA is an implementing partner of the TAAT Wheat compact along with 9 other One CGIAR centers. The TAAT Wheat Compact aims to strengthen production capacity and seed systems, and disseminate improved climate-resilient wheat varieties, while simultaneously introducing innovative production technologies and integrated crop management practices (water-saving technologies) in order to increase Africa’s agricultural productivity. TAAT Wheat technologies have reached 1.5 million famers.

AFDB alongside other winners including Google, IBM, and Dubai Municipality will be awarded the prize on the 8th of December 2021 in an online ceremony celebrating the 18th annual International Business Awards. The ceremony will recognize outstanding organizations and highlight their positive contributions globally.
